Starting as an entry-level operator in the Jam manufacturing plant in 2013, Lucy quickly proved her expertise in running the equipment. But she didn’t stop there – keen to expand her general manufacturing knowledge, she took on the challenge of mastering our market-leading mincemeat production, supported by our production leaders. Her hard work and commitment led to her promotion to Jam Team Leader.
In August 2024, she stepped into the role of Goods Out Supervisor – a completely new challenge with a different team and responsibilities, which she embraced with her trademark enthusiasm.
Beyond her day job, Lucy also took on an incredible initiative; raising funds for a new on-site defibrillator, following a first aid training course, where she found out ’if a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates jump from 6% to 74%’. Through tuck shops, raffles, tombolas, and staff favourite ‘Hotdog Thursday,’ she and a willing band of helpers made it happen!
Cutting the ribbon on the new defibrillator was a proud moment, only matched by receiving a peer-nominated award at Christmas for her positivity and willingness to embrace new challenges.
